Annie Sullivan was the one who drew Helen Keller out of her dark and silent world and into a realm of comprehension that few of us in the hearing and seeing world fully comprehend. I decided to become a teacher for people like Helen. I wanted to bring joy and music into people's lives.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? Remember how it felt to honestly believe you could be an astronaut, President or Prime Minister, Academy Award winner, or Olympian?

Helen Keller suggested this to people as they worked to achieve their goals, and I'd like to add a twist to her theme. "It is for us to pray not for tasks equal to our abilities, but for abilities equal to our abilities, to go forward with a great desire forever beating at the door of our hearts as we travel toward our distant goal." I would go so far as to say that your goal should not be in the distance but rather in each moment of each day. The power and intention of each day create an effect of natural movement towards the life of your dreams, a life of empowerment for you and those around you, a life mapped by your destiny when you choose an overall life where your heart is in sync with your dreams and actions.

Know that this is entirely possible for you to achieve, beginning today. Rather than saying immediately, "Oh, no! I'm not going to be able to do that! Instead of saying, "No way!" ask yourself, "How can I live my destiny?" I dare you to take the first few easy steps. Begin incorporating these into your life today and see what happens.

What if you genuinely believed that no task was too difficult for you to complete? Accept it as fact. There is no such thing as an impossible task. You may need to tweak or modify the specifics of your dream, but no job is impossible.

What if you completely let go of scarcity and lack? How much of your greatness is thwarted by fear? How often does your mind jump to "I can't afford that," "That price is more than I have," or "I'll have to wait"? Relax in the knowledge and assurance that you have everything you require and more. The truth is that abundance exists. It's one step closer to being yours.

What if you truly believed in your heart that each person you meet is a magnificent creation in their own right? That means you are just as valuable as everyone else on the planet. You have a distinct, one-of-a-kind purpose and destiny. A fountain or wellspring of possibilities flows from your core. All you have to do is stay grounded and focused on your daily goal or intention of living a life in alignment with your life's callings and putting those callings into daily actions.

This is something you can do. You are deserving. You are large enough, strong enough, specific enough, and have sufficient resources. Today! Now and then!

Helen Keller opened up a world of possibilities to the seeing world in a world where she couldn't see or hear in conventional ways. Accept her expansive vision and play a symphony in her ears. Go to your fate.
