Setting Goals and Creating a Personal Mission Statement

A company's employees are well-versed in crafting vision and mission statements and implementing them. The company's vision and mission statements guide it in the right direction and eventually lead to success. We've put in countless hours of effort for our employers to produce these statements, which we hope will help them achieve their goals. We all have a purpose or mission, just like a business.

In what ways could we learn more about ourselves and what we want in life? Vision statements and mission statements are the foundation for powerful energy. A vision or mission, on the other hand, rarely shifts. It's the reason we're here. It aids us in making decisions and determining our course of action.

- Your Vision

Relax and imagine what your life will be like when you're older. We're not sure how long it will be. What you are doing, who you're with, what you've accomplished, what is important to you, and how people perceive you are all aspects of your identity. Do you ever wonder how it feels to be yourself? Feel who you are, your authentic self. Now that you've opened your eyes look at your life and yourself through them. This Vision will inspire you to make the necessary changes in your life to achieve your goals. Creating a Personal Vision is like painting a picture of what you want to be in the future. What you want to do, how you want to feel, what you want to own, and who you want to associate with are all aspects of your Vision. Your Vision can help you see the future, but it must be grounded in the here and now. An affirmation of your current and future selves. In other words, it serves as a blueprint for the life-creation process. Your mission statement is a statement of where you want to go and how you plan to get there.

- What is your life's purpose?

To live out your Vision, you need a Personal Mission Statement. There is no such thing as a "to-do" list in this document, regardless of its length. It reflects your individuality and must speak powerfully to you about who you are and who you are becoming. Remember that it's OK to be where you are, even if you're traveling to a different location. The only place you can begin is right here and now..... If you have a personal vision, your life will not transform overnight. But things will change. Steps are laid out for you in your mission statement.

You should answer three questions in your Mission Statement:

1. What is the point of my existence?

2. What values do I hold dear?

3. What actions do I take to manifest my purpose and values?

Represents your most profound and best self, says Stephen Covey in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Your deepest self is at the heart of it all. It is the realization of your unique talents. Putting yourself out there is a way for you to show the world what you can do. Physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions are all addressed and integrated into this program. All the roles you play in your life are addressed. It symbolizes a lifetime of balancing your personal, family, work, and community roles. For your inspiration, not for anyone else's. It reaches out to you on a fundamental level and inspires you.

"A Personal Mission Statement is one of the most powerful and significant things you can do to take control of your life. Creating a Personal Mission Statement The most important roles, relationships, and you will identify things in your life. You will identify who you want to be, what you want to do, who you want to give your life to, and what principles you will anchor your life to. It is the foundation for all of your future goals and decisions. It's like deciding which wall you want to put your ladder of life up against before you begin climbing. During the storms and currents of your life, it will be a strong compass." "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" author Stephen Covey

If you have a Personal Vision/Mission, it can help you land a new job or improve your current one. Having a Personal Vision/Mission that is more aligned with who you are and what you want in life will help you achieve your goals.

We used only the team goal-setting example, but we couldn't stop there. We can't expect to succeed unless we develop a solid strategy and action plan. Anybody can claim that they want to win half as many games as they currently do. That isn't enough. Coaches are responsible for setting goals with their players to help them achieve their personal and team objectives.
