Self Esteem - 4 Easy Steps to Overcoming Self Esteem

With these four simple actions, you can defeat low self-esteem...

1. Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements that you repeat to yourself every day. This can be challenging at times because you may not believe what you are saying. So why would you tell yourself something you don't think so?

Increased self-esteem must begin with you. So, if you're shy and afraid of people, start saying something like, "I am NOT shy, and I am NOT afraid of people." When I'm around other people, I'm VERY self-assured.

Repeat this to yourself at least ten times before leaving your room. Don't just mutter it; repeat it as often as required until you can pronounce it with passion and conviction.


2. Read to learn

Increased self-esteem, once again, begins with you. Every day, for at least 30 minutes, read something that will assist you in boosting your self-esteem. This might be a blog post, a book, or even an audio series. The more you learn, the more you will develop. The more you mature, the higher your self-esteem will be.


3. Do something every day.

Do something every day, beginning with something small, to address your low self-esteem. For example, if you cannot communicate with others because you feel insecure and inferior, start by just saying 'Hello.' As you become more at ease, you can begin to make small conversation. You will gradually gain confidence until one day you will realize that you have conquered your poor self-esteem in that area.


4. Put an end to your unfavorable ideas.

Opposing ideas are similar to landmines. As soon as you face your fear, a negative thought enters your mind and tells you that you can't do it, and BOOM, you believe it and lose that round. Instead, dissipate negative thoughts before they can cause harm.

A rubber band is an excellent tool for this! Wrap your wrist in a rubber band. SNAP the rubber band around your wrist every time a negative idea enters your mind, telling you that you can't, that you'll never succeed, that you're a loser, or anything else.

You could snap that band till your wrist is red and aching. But, eventually, you'll stop thinking negatively since you don't want to injure your wrist any longer.


These four steps will assist you in increasing your self-esteem and being the person you truly desire to be. Just keep in mind that you will not transform overnight. It will take time, but as long as you advance, you will win the war.
