Know what you want and go after it!
How are things going in your life and business? Is it stagnant, boring, and heading nowhere? Have you become obsessed with making those loan payments or simply surviving until the next fistful of money arrives? Do you struggle to maintain your positive outlook on life and business?
The best way to live a fulfilling life is to imagine what we want to do and make it happen. A simple statement, but how many of us can put it into action? If you follow these steps, you will be able to put them into action! First, find a quiet, comfortable place where you will be free of distractions. Make sure you have paper and a pen on hand because you need to jot down some notes.
1. Idea Generation
Write down everything you want to do for the next ten to fifteen minutes. There are a few ground rules for this exercise: don't evaluate as you write! For example, if you want to go on a twelve-month vacation abroad, don't think about whether you can afford it. Jot it down. Evaluation can take place later. At this point, make a list of everything you'd like to do, assuming there's nothing you can't do.
2. Establish Ideas' Priorities
When you've finished brainstorming, you'll have a list of things you want to do. Your next step is to go over your list and prioritize it. Again, you should not evaluate any of these items while ranking them. The articles should be numbered from most desired to least desired.
Look at the top three items on your list and ask yourself, "What is preventing me from doing these things?" If you write down these reasons, it will help to clarify things. For example, if your top priority is to travel abroad for a year, your reasons for not being able to do so could be: I can't afford it, I can't leave my business unattended, or I'm afraid I won't like it when I get there.
4. Make an Action Plan
The final step in this process is to put your plan into action and do so right away! Don't wait for a better time; the best time is always NOW!
However, don't let your big plans prevent you from carrying out some of your smaller ones right now. Choose a couple of free activities that you can do within the next month. PERFORM THEM! You will feel like a different person as a result of this.
