How to Relax Quickly

Why should you learn to relax quickly? Because stress is more than just an unpleasant sensation. It's also hazardous. Many diseases are now known to be caused or exacerbated by stress, but there is something you can do about it. Try these relaxation techniques today and use them whenever you feel the tension building.

1. Take a hot shower- The hot water relaxes your muscles, and the break from more stressful activities is also beneficial.

2. Listen to relaxing music- Experiment to see which music soothes you the most. Then keep your favorite relaxation CD at work or wherever you'll need it the most.

3. Get out of the room- This is especially helpful if the things stressing you out are in the room or are associated with it. Why not go for a walk for a while?

4. Drink chamomile tea- Chamomile tea appears to have a calming effect on the nerves, and hot drinks, in general, can help you relax.

5. Monitor your thoughts- If you can detect stressors lurking just beneath the surface (hunger, worry, a phone call you to need to make), you can resolve them and feel more relaxed.

6. Laugh- Of course, you already know that this helps you relax, right? Find a guy who knows all the best jokes, or look around for something amusing.

7. Take a deep breath through your nose, close your eyes, and focus solely on your breathing. Five slow, deep breaths are similar to a mini-meditation.

8. Go for a walk- If you have at least ten minutes to spare, walking is one of the best relaxation techniques. While you're at it, go for a walk in a beautiful area.

9. hug someone- As long as it's from someone you don't mind hugging, this can be highly relaxing.

10. Disrupt your routine- Take a break to talk to that guy sleeping on the bench or eat lunch on the roof. Anything that gets you out of your way can help you relax.

You can become more relaxed over time. Of course, if the thought of the work involved stresses you out, even more, you may want to take it slowly. Meanwhile, the relaxation techniques listed above aren't complicated, so why not try a few and learn how to relax quickly?
