Basic Needs Unmet Lead To Compulsive Behavior

Throughout our lives, there are several things we must accomplish. We have a wide range of needs and desires, from the most basic to the most philanthropic. Negative physical, mental, and emotional consequences, including addiction, can occur if these conditions are not met. Here, we're talking about what's needed.

A need is a specific demand, such as the urge to eat when you're hungry or the need for reassurance when you're afraid you're unloved and unworthy. As long as a condition can be met, it is completed. When you've had your fill, it's easy to move on to something else.

Abraham Maslow's work inspired the following list of needs.

People's physical needs include food, water, shelter, health care, essential comfort, and money to pay for it.

Feeling secure comes from knowing that you have the support of loved ones, that you are wanted, accepted, and loved.

Relationship: The desire to connect, engage, give and receive, procreate and have sex.

- Self-esteem: Confidence, competence, respect, and power are all necessary for self-esteem. Your self-esteem naturally rises when you receive praise and recognition from others. This gives you the courage to take risks and pursue your dreams. Confidence, poise, and power come from competence and achievement. Respect is essential to a person's positive development and conduct in all of these ways.

When you keep your promises to yourself and others, you have integrity. You can put your faith in your judgment and decisions because you take the time to weigh the pros and cons.

It is essential to meet one's basic needs. If you don't do this, you will be distracted, out of balance, and out of peace. The more unmet needs you have, the more complicated and magnified your problems will be. Your day-to-day activities and creative output are skewed toward meeting an unmet need for you (s). Your life is tangled in difficulties, and your happiness will be shattered for the rest of your life if you don't get your priorities straight.

It's common for people who don't know how to address their needs to focus on what appears to be more accessible. Despite all that, weakness still exists. For example, a person who is a talented singer but cannot form and maintain healthy relationships is an example of this.

For basic needs to be met, one must feel the insecurity that arises and then figure out the best way to address it. Many people, however, lack the necessary trust, strength, and method to accomplish this. The fear of being weakened by admitting a lack prevents healthy progress, even though acknowledging the lack strengthens them.

You must first identify the unmet need that is driving your negative behavior. It would help if you replaced that negative behavior with a positive one. For example, a great singer typically orders her favorite foods after a concert, eats a lot, and grows more significant in her hotel room. She can do so even while on the road as long as she accepts that she never learned how to build and maintain healthy relationships.

Meeting your most basic needs is critical because it lays the groundwork for everything else and helps you achieve your full potential. As a fundamental part of gaining clarity, peace, and a sense of well-being, meeting your basic needs is essential.
