Achieving Inner Confidence: 2 Steps to Success
The most important lesson I've learned in my many years as a coach is that inner confidence holds the secret to success.
There are many methods to choose from when it comes to making changes in one's life and feeling better about oneself. But if you don't have the proper basis, then all of those methods are pointless. This is the genuine you, the one that knows who they are in the deepest part of their hearts. Finding and bringing out yourself requires confidence; these are the two keys to the true inner spirit.
Start By Identifying Your Core Values
Personal values are something I'm interested in, and when I speak about them, I tend to get carried away with myself. To be clear, I make no apologies for this. Knowing these facts about oneself is crucial for developing true inner confidence. Your values are buried ten thousand feet deep inside of you, at the very heart of who you are. They are the pillars on which you are built. Values encompass things like beliefs, progress, family, pleasure, nature, success, and freedom essential to the person who holds them.
Exactly why do specific individuals and circumstances make you feel enraged or frustrated? Your values are rejected, suppressed, or repressed – and we think it an unpleasant experience because leaving an essential part of who you are is a bad experience for us. Do you recall any instances in your life when you felt energized, extraordinary, or buzzing? When one or more of your values is respected, you will have additional opportunities to experience this.
Your values are yours alone, and no one can ever take them away from you, no matter what happens. Since they're always there, you may rest confident that they're there to be used whenever you choose. Knowing your values allows you to make decisions and live your life following them. What it means is that you're letting yourself be who you are in the real world.
Work the Muscles
As with any muscle, confidence has to be worked not to cause atrophy and degeneration. Unlike your biceps and glutes, the issue is that your confidence muscle may be more challenging to locate. Developing biceps and firming your glutes may be accomplished in a variety of ways. To get the results you want, you must do workouts intended to train that specific muscle over an extended length of time.
Confidence is the same way. Think of yourself as a person who doesn't take any chances, who gets through each day by doing the bare minimum and does it well, but doesn't push yourself to accomplish anything new. Because it's frightening, or because you believe to yourself, "I'm not good enough," or "that's not who I am," you may talk yourself out of doing anything. Such a person stays inside the boundaries of what they are familiar with and believe will keep them secure and comfortable. They grow less confident since they take fewer risks and therefore require less confidence.
To build your self-confidence, you must be willing to take risks of all sizes. You must be willing to attempt something new or try something in a little different manner to push yourself in an unexpected direction. Be open-minded and push yourself to learn more, accomplish more, be a better person. Your level of confidence will grow in direct proportion to your level of risk, opportunity, and possibility openness. If you want to build your self-confidence, you'll need to work on it.
